
SANGBAY NI RAGSAK-PATOC-AO, SUYO
“Sangbay ni Ragsak” which when translated to English means the Waterfalls of Happiness. It was first named as Burayok and named Sangbay ni Ragsak by Barangay Captain of Patoc-ao August of 2007. It is approximately 30 m in height. Its natural formation is inherent to mountain terrain. It attracts local and foreign tourists
seeking ecological and natural surroundings to enjoy. Its pool area is not deep for diving. Nevertheless, it’s good for dipping with its cool waters.
*From Manila take a bus going North-Laoag, Vigan, Candon, and Abra. All of these pass through Tagudin, Ilocos Sur. Drop at Tagudin Yellow market and look for tricycles with white and green paint.
-The fare from Tagudin Yellow Market is 30php per person. If you wish not to wait for companions in the tricycle you can hire it for around 150 php.
Stop at Urzadan bridge and from there hike all the way. Take the left side a smaller road where there is a waiting shed at its entry corner and an eatery at the back. Continue hiking along this cemented road until you reach the Bailey bridge ( Gongogong Bridge).
Cross the bridge and walk some few meters more reaching a waiting shed. Now go to your left road going up.
Keep on hiking going upwards on the cemented road until you see a rough road on your left. Take this road and continue walking the trail passing a farm area and finally into the waterfalls.
*If with private car enter at Bitalag, Tagudin junction. When you reach the Urzadan bridge take a left side smaller road where there is a waiting shed at its entry corner.
Cross the bailey bridge and take the left road going up. You can see a rough road at your left. You can leave your private car here and continue walking the trail passing a farm area and finally into the waterfalls.
If with private car approximately 30 minutes ride from Bitalag junction plus a relatively 15 minutes trekking to reach the waterfalls.
Fees:
Entrance fee: 20 php per person
Cottage: 100php maximum of 12 hours
