MOUNT TIBEK- MAN-ATONG, SUYO

Tales say that once there was a couple who lived in a mountain. In order to live they planted kamote, Alayan ube and others; did deer hunting and fishing. One early morning the man went to the river near the mountain and was surprised with the large number of “Tibek”(local fish) he saw. The man was totally amazed and

revealed to his wife what he saw.

Because of this the wife told him to call the mountain “Tibek”.

At the face of a cliff above the Suyo Eco Mountain Resort , there is an outcropping of rock that resembles the face of a local fish called “Tibek”.

Its posture is similar to its trail of partially emerging its head in wait for prey and food.
